The Purple Passion Plant (Gynura aurantiaca) is native to the rainforests of Southeast Asia, where it thrives in warm, humid, and shaded conditions. It's often called the "velvet plant" because the signature purple color isn't actually in the leaf itself; but comes from thousands of tiny, soft, deep-violet hairs (setae) covering the green foliage. When light hits these hairs, they create a shimmering, iridescent glow that makes the plant look almost electrified.

Find a home for this beauty in moderate to bright light and provide moderate, consistent moisture and humidity; similar to orchid care. Too much light can cause burn on leaf tips.

Each plant is rooted and shipped in a 4-inch grower nursery pot.
